Our Ukrainian Adoption Blog
The Journey for Our Forever Child

Our first outing on our own

posted Sunday, 19 June 2005

7pm Sunday

We just took a 4 or so mile stroll to walk to the grocery store.  We bought some kind of breakfast cereal, looks like oatmeal with raspberries.  We also bought a couple different beers, some grapefruit juice, and some strawberry jelly.  Mostly just wanted to go buy something on our own, but needed something besides a kiwi fruit for breakfast tomorrow.  By the way, the milk here is WAY different... not in a good way, either!  Maybe I'll get used to it, we'll see.

Hi Guys,

My name is Carol Raskin and one of the fellow people goin Indy. Just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear about the delay in your appointment, but what a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Ukraine (okay, I'm sure you would have anyway, but hey...we get to learn more from your posts!) Thanks for providing so much information on your blog. I am making notes like crazy..yes, looks like we will pay the extra to get through customs and may rethink trying the milk. good luck and I look forward to hearing more as you continue on your journey!!

Hey Phil,

I happy that you made it to the Ukraine without any problems. Hope everthing else is going well and you both have a good time. And besides ... you didn't go there just for the milk ... or is that the way milk is supposed to taste???

See ya Steve

Regarding the milk, there is actually a wider variety of milk than we are used to. Trying a couple different brands and you will find what you are used to. Regarding ceral, we loved the "museli". There is also Cheerios available now.
